Sightseeing

Sightseeing in Wales

It's not all mountains and sea, the area also has world class visitor attractions. No less than three of Wales' impressive castles: Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Conwy are within easy reach of Pen y Clip.

A stroll through the famous Laburnam arch at Bodnant Garden is one of lifes real pleasures, especially combined with a visit to the elegant Victorian shopping arcades at Llandudno. For a rare glimpse of the splendour of a bygone age, a visit to the gardens and house at Plas Newydd is hard to beat.

Glimpses of an older and more mysterious Anglesey can be found all over the island, standing stones, ancient hut circles and cromlechs dot the countryside. Particularly fine are the famous burial chambers at Bryn Celli Ddu and Barclodiad y Gawres with it's neolithic rock carvings and the Iron Age village at Din Lligwy. Keen historians will also enjoy the islands' historic churches and the 'Martian' landscape of the historic Parys Mountain copper mines.

Kids (of all ages) love the Greenwood Centre, with its adventure area of stilts and mazes, the chance to try your hand at ancient crafts like shooting Welsh Longbow shooting and sample the delights of its Herb Gardens, woodland walks and superb cafe.
