Pen y Clip - The House

We know little about the architect, but the house was designed and built in the early 1950s and later extended in the 1970s. It's quirky, idiosyncratic detailing gives the property real character and charm, whilst not betraying the Architect's modernist pricipals.

The building has a southerly orientation with views extending across the Menai Straits, perfectly framed by Telfords graceful suspension bridge to the west and the elegance of the grand Victorian pier (stretching out onto the Straits) at Bangor to the East. The Mountains of Snowdonia lie between, the perfect backdrop to this wonderful panorama.

The house itself is spacious, light and uncluttered. It boasts a huge lounge, with oak floors and
wood burning stove, a perfect room for watching a filmand getting cosy in front of the fire or, on a summer evening, throwing open the door and enjoying the garden. Like the rest of the house it has contemporary furnishings and ample spave to cater for a large group in comfort.

Adjoining the lounge is a library/music room – a quiet peaceful room to sit and read (the oak bookcases are stocked with hundreds of books) or listen to music (there's also a music system including turntable and a stack of vinyl)

The games room is a place for all the family to enjoy a game of table tennis or darts. There's also a large TV where kids can plug in their games consoles and flop out on the bean bags!

The kitchen is another huge space- 450 square feet in size, with a French farmhouse table seating
12 people comfortably. A professionally equipped kitchen, boasting all Miele appliances, Corian worktops integrated double fridge and freezer, it is a budding chefs heaven! There's also a wall mounted flat screen TV with sky and freeview connection. Both the kitchen and the main lounge have fantastic views and doors opening onto the decked area and rear gardens.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are all large doubles, with wonderful views. The master bedroom suite,
with flat screen TV, Super king size bed, en-suite with walk in double shower, is accessed
through the walk through dressing area off the large open landing.

Two further bedrooms are fully equipped with twin single beds.

The family bathroom is spacious with large bath, limestone tiled floor and contemporary fittings.

The second en-suite bedroom has a walk in wardrobe, super king size bed, and great views. The
en-suite has a marble floor, walk-in shower and contemporary suite.

Downstairs there is a fifth double bedroom, a wc and separate shower/wet room.
